We had our closing “vine” preview in the youth hall last night. We sang, we looked at Gods word, we took communion, we had dancers doing some cool interpretive dancing, we sang some more and then had a benediction. There seemed to be a strong sense of community in the room last night that was less about previewing things and more about being family focused on God together. It was a neat night. I also got to see a good friend last night from my college days. who was visiting family in lakeland over the weekend. That was pretty cool too. After everything was put up and all the doors were locked a group of us went to a Mexican restaurant together. Nikki ate a Macho Burrito. It was the biggest burrito I’ve ever seen.
It was the size of our dog! Kind of scary. It was a fun evening filled with lot’s of laughter and good food. Paul our bass player and resident cool guy taught Quinn how to siphon water from one glass to another by using his thumbs on a straw.
Quinn was in awe at how well that worked. It was funny. 🙂
This morning I was reading a meditation by John Piper on the pleasures of God and read Zephaniah 3:17. It reads “The Lord, your God is in your midst, a warrior who gives victory; he will rejoice over you with gladness, he will be quiet in his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.” That just blows me away that God wants to be close to me and it fuels my love for Him even more… I’m off to a meeting 🙂 Many blessings this week!
