I enjoyed this Sunday but I felt like I had a bit of jet lag from out trip home. Spent the holiday in Nashville/Franklin TN. Had a good time with family and got to visit my college stomping grounds at Belmont University. I love that place. The drive seemed to take allot longer to get back to Lakeland. We did stop in GA to cut down our own tree which has been a family tradition for many years now. It’s so much fun to cut down your tree. We cut down such a huge tree this year. Took me a while to get it to stand up in our house it was that big. Plus we have a small house 🙂 Good times!
I love listening to the recording of Sing to the King but I never enjoy leading it. I’m not sure why. It’s always been that way for me. Like I said I felt like I had jet lag this week 🙂 My favorite part of worship this week was during offering where I went unscripted with the bridge to “Glory to God forever” then the full band came in and we lead the whole song. I think I needed a time of meditation through song like that. Unplanned. I’m looking forward to the rest of Advent and the songs we get to sing. I used to dread christmas songs, but I don’t anymore because my understanding of Advent what it means to me now. I love this season.
Plus I got to see Bill Horn! He’s on a break right now and came to worship at Vine with his lovely wife. It was great to see one of my worship leadership peers on a sunday.
Plus he’s just a cool guy 🙂
