Sunday we had a good morning.  We started the day off with a Rolling Stones classic “Gimme Shelter”.  Fun, easy to play and immediately recognizable.  Why are mainstream songs easier to play than church songs are?   They aren’t congregational friendly or great for every singer to try but we experimented with it on Sunday and it went over pretty well.   I’m not a fan of mainstream songs that are taken and used as worship songs.  Never have been. We didn’t try to do that on Sunday.  And I’m not saying that is wrong I just don’t like to do it. Comes across as corny to me.  Our morning was full of songs that had great content, good melody and music that was not boring.  I can’t wait till next Sunday 🙂  Got another special song as people are walking in….
